Fairleigh Kindergarten News
Welcome to our first Newsletter for 2018.
It has been interesting starting back and combating the hot weather. A big thank you to Tom Glover for putting up an extra sun sail for the start of term.
Welcome to new starters Sebastian Patterson, Freddy Haddon, Nico Delany, James Jessep and their families.
Children leaving to school this term, Oliver Rose, Frances Connell, Penelope Donovan, Libby Foulds, Sam Rhodes and Daisy Ellis.
Children have settled in well and we are still trying to fill a few more spaces to grow the roll. There are permanent and casual spaces each morning and afternoon of the week
Donna Cox is underway with Little Yogis on Tuesday afternoons for children who are in that group. As vacancies arise we will let you know.
We are keen to receive any donations of runner/ balance bikes that may no longer be needed.
Over the Christmas break we utilised a grant from Foodstuffs we received last year to start our children’s bathroom upgrade. The second phase will be completed with a new hand washing trough set up before Easter.
Upcoming Fundraiser – Quail Island
As a small centre we rely on fundraisers each term for resourcing. This term our Parent Fundraising Committee has organised an outing to Quail Island on Sunday 11th March. Black Cat Cruises has kindly offered us the exclusive use of their ferry boat for this outing.
The boat will depart at 9:30am from Lyttelton and departs Quail Island at 1:30pm.
There will be a raffle on the day and a BBQ available on the island to purchase sausages so please bring cash and you can also bring along a picnic lunch. There will be activities for the children to enjoy and don’t forget your togs!
There will be opportunities for children and families to participate in the DOC Kiwi Guardians programme which children will also be involved in here at Kindergarten in the lead up to this outing.
Bookings can be made by email to email@example.com with payment made into our usual Kindergarten account using “QUAIL” as a reference. This is open to our community so please feel free to invite Grandparents and friends.
Costs are as follows:
